I'm strong in verbal, but weak in math. My SATs always reflected this. It never mattered to me, because I believe creativity and imagination is more important than logic. Fortunately my career lets me be creative . . .
let's you be creative...is that code for barely make enough to pay rent? I hope not, for your sake.
Actually I really lucked out. I have a very design-oriented career which is also highly technical and well-paying. I've worked in government, corporate and non-profits, all. Day-in, day-out, my work is both fun, challenging, and diverse.
So, I tend to sneer at people who are in fields like accounting, finance, and investments, even surgeons. I have a horror and distaste for all work that is regimented, dry, mechanical, and routine.
People from such fields, in my experience, may be fiscally successful but they're usually quite dull. I find them lacking breadth of knowledge in the humanities, or experience of the world.
I do very well, myself--thanks for asking--and I make a positive, tangible contribution to society. My work involves helping both people and the environment. I have always been adamant that my career must support these values.
